Solar Energy is mostly derived from photovoltaics. Photovoltaics Converts solar radiation into electricity using the semiconductor properties. This green technology generates energy without pollution and helps in conserving nonrenewable energy sources. These systems use “cells”. 

And these cells are silicon wafers that are sensitive to light. Moreover, when they are exposed to light, they produce a small amount of current. And when these cells are put together into big systems called arrays, they generate a good amount of electricity.

This energy is extracted from the thermal energy traooed inside the rock and fluids beneath Earth’s crust. Geothermal power plants typically use this heat to produce steam, which drives turbines connected to electricity generators.

There are three main geothermal power plants: dry steam, flash steam, and binary cycle. Each type uses different methods to extract and convert geothermal energy, but all offer a sustainable and low-emission alternative to fossil fuels.

5. Biomass Energy Systems

Biomass energy systems utilize organic materials such as wood, agricultural residues, and other plant-based materials to produce energy. In 2023, biomass energy contributed to around 5% of the global energy supply. 

Biomass can turn into electricity, heat, or biofuels through processes like combustion, gasification, and anaerobic digestion.

One of the key benefit of this renewable energy systems are its ability to use waste materials, thereby reducing waste and creating a more circular economy. However, it’s essential to manage biomass resources sustainably to avoid deforestation and other ecological impacts.
