The new Thar Roxx 2024 is more than just an upgrade. It looks and feels premium compared to the 3-door version. You’ll notice 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, and a sleek 6-slat grille. Inside, the cabin comes in a classy dual-tone black and white, with white leatherette seats. You can also choose brown upholstery and a mocha brown theme.

Thar Roxx Engine Specifications
The New Thar offers solid engine performance with its 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. You get two power options – 150bhp with 330Nm for the six-speed manual and 172bhp with 370Nm for the automatic. The automatic version uses a smooth and quick-shifting six-speed torque converter, making driving an exciting experience.
Thar Roxx has Crawl Smart for automatic throttle control over tough terrain and IntelliTurn for tight U-turns, making off-roading easy. It can handle up to 650mm of water-wading depth, and its 4XPLOR terrain modes—Snow, Mud, and Sand—keep it prepared for any adventure. The approach angle is 41.7 degrees, and the departure angle is 36.1 degrees, ensuring it tackles obstacles with ease.
On the road, this engine delivers quick acceleration, and the automatic gearbox is smooth, making highway drives effortless. It’s best when cruising between 95-100 km/h, offering excellent stability and ride quality. The steering is light, making city driving and parking easy. The brakes are strong and responsive, giving you confidence in all situations.
However, the steering can feel heavy at high speeds and needs constant corrections. It also tends to shake on bumpy roads, and the cabin can get noisy once you cross 100 km/h. Plus, pushing beyond 100 km/h will reduce fuel efficiency, and the brake pedal has a longer travel before you feel its effect. Despite these drawbacks, the new Thar is a powerful, versatile SUV ready for adventure.
Thar Roxx Safety Features
The Thar Roxx comes packed with safety features to keep you protected on every drive. It includes six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, and traction control. Hill hold and hill descent control make tricky terrain easier, while rear parking sensors and three-point seatbelts for all seats ensure added safety.
You also get advanced features like tyre pressure monitoring, front parking sensors, a rear camera, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. The rear disc brake adds more stopping power. For even more peace of mind, it offers ADAS features such as forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
Although it hasn’t been tested by NCAP for crash ratings yet, it is designed with top-notch safety features for all types of roads.
